In just a few short years, Ryan Coogler has reinvigorated the "Rocky" franchise with the compelling story of Adonis Creed in "Creed," and taken us to the advanced civilization of Wakanda to introduce "Black Panther" to the MCU.
It is his directorial debut, however, that offers his most powerful film to date. "Fruitvale Station" is the true story of Oscar Grant's last day, as he navigates through the joys and hardships of family, friendships, and responsibilities before an altercation with police ends tragically.
